HOW DOES THE BEYOND™ POLUS® ADVANCED LAMP WORK?

UNIQUE TECHNOLOGY IN AESTHETIC DENTISTRY

LED system icon

In the LED system, a very high light intensity, reaching up to 300,000 LX, was achieved by using both a halogen lamp and LEDs, thereby increasing the width of the light beam that activates the whitening preparation.

Ultrasonic technology icon

Ultrasonic technology, which, combined with a very high dose of light radiation, further enhances the oxidation of the hydrogen peroxide-based preparation.

Lightbridge technology icon

Lightbridge technology almost completely eliminates UV radiation, infrared radiation, and the heat generated during the procedure, thereby enhancing comfort and safety during teeth whitening and reducing post-procedure sensitivity by half.

BEYOND MAX SOLUTION

The preparation combines the WRS formula:

(from English: RSW : Reconstruction, Strengthening, Whitening)

It consists of two preparations; the first is designed for whitening - it contains 35% hydrogen peroxide. The second is potassium nitrate (with properties that reduce sensitivity) and hydroxyapatite (regenerates and strengthens enamel).

What does the teeth whitening procedure look like?

WHAT DOES THE TEETH WHITENING PROCEDURE LOOK LIKE?

  • We begin with a consultation to check the condition of your teeth – this includes detecting any potential cavities and determining the need for plaque or tartar removal.
  • If plaque/tartar removal is necessary, we schedule this appointment 2 weeks before the whitening procedure.
  • We then set the date for the whitening procedure, which lasts approximately 1.5 hours.
  • During the appointment, before the procedure, the dentist or hygienist determines the tooth shade and takes photographs.
  • We protect the patient with protective eyewear and a cheek retractor, which shields the lips and tongue. Then, a liquid resin (gingival barrier) is applied to the gums and cured with a lamp. This protects the gums from the effects of the whitening agent.
  • We apply the whitening gel and position the lamp correctly. The light exposure time is 15 min.
  • After this time, we remove the whitening gel and apply a fresh layer to the teeth. We repeat the cycle up to 3 times.

  • Once the cycles are complete, we remove the gingival barrier and other protective materials.
  • After the procedure, we re-assess the tooth shade, take another photograph, and compare the whitening results.
  • We instruct the patient on the necessity of following a "white diet" and how to use the RS gel, which alleviates sensitivity (potassium nitrate) and regenerates the enamel surface (hydroxyapatite).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT WHITENING

  1. WHAT ARE THE TEETH WHITENING METHODS?

Take-home tray whitening (at home). The patient applies the whitening agent at home using custom-fitted trays provided by the dentist. The trays are usually worn overnight. The patient manages the process. Depending on the desired results, the whitening process lasts from a few days to a couple of weeks.

In-office whitening (with a professional lamp). The procedure is performed by a dentist. It provides quick results. In just 45 minutes, teeth can become several shades lighter. This effect is possible due to the use of higher concentration whitening agents than those available for take-home trays.

  2. HOW TO PREPARE FOR A WHITENING PROCEDURE?

A teeth whitening procedure should be preceded by a professional dental cleaning (hygienization), i.e., scaling and air polishing, for the professional removal of tartar, as well as surface stains and deposits. This should be done two weeks before the planned whitening.

  3. HOW LONG IS THE TEETH WHITENING APPOINTMENT?

The whitening procedure involves applying a professional whitening agent to the teeth. Depending on how the teeth respond to the whitening process, this application can be performed once, twice, or three times, for 15 minutes each.

  4. DOES TEETH WHITENING HURT?

Increased tooth sensitivity may occur during the procedure. Special preparations are used to reduce patient discomfort.

  5. THE WHITE DIET - WHAT CAN YOU EAT?

    You can eat:

    1. Dairy products without spices (e.g., cottage cheese, plain yogurt, milk, mozzarella).
    2. Drinks – water and milk.
    3. Fruits, e.g., bananas, apples (peeled), pears (peeled).
    4. White vegetables, e.g., potatoes, white cabbage, white beans, kohlrabi. Cucumber, eggplant, zucchini – all peeled.
    5. Poultry - turkey, chicken.
    6. Fish, seafood.
    7. White rice, millet groats, pearl barley.
    8. Grain products, e.g., white bread, white pasta.
  6. THE WHITE DIET - WHAT TO AVOID?

    You should avoid:

    1. Fruits, such as: dark berries (e.g., blueberries, currants), cherries.
    2. Vegetables, such as: tomatoes, peppers, carrots, red cabbage.
    3. Yellow cheeses, as well as seasoned or flavored cottage/quark cheeses.
    4. Colored soups, e.g., borscht (red beet soup).
    5. Chocolate and products containing cocoa.
    6. Spices, e.g., curry powder, paprika, cinnamon, turmeric.
    7. Dark sauces, e.g., gravy, tomato sauce.
    8. Cured meats (except for poultry).
    9. Ketchup.
    10. Avoid drinking: coffee, tea, red wine.

Important! During the "white diet," DO NOT SMOKE CIGARETTES – this can cause staining on freshly whitened teeth

  7. ARE THERE ANY CONTRAINDICATIONS TO TEETH WHITENING?

Yes. Teeth whitening should not be performed on:

    • Children and adolescents under the age of 16,
    • Individuals with hypersensitivity to hot and cold foods/temperatures,
    • Pregnant or breastfeeding women,
    • Patients struggling with chronic tooth decay (or: Patients with untreated cavities),
    • Patients experiencing gum inflammation (or: Patients with active gum disease),
    • Individuals with known allergies or sensitivity to substances contained in whitening materials/agents.
  8. WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE FOR TEETH WHITENING?

Teeth should not be whitened before the age of 16.

  9. CAN TEETH WHITENING CAUSE SIDE EFFECTS?

Yes. Whitening may lead to sensitivity that can last for a few days after the procedure. Using appropriate post-whitening products will certainly reduce any discomfort.

  10. DO FILLINGS AND PROSTHETIC RESTORATIONS WHITEN?

Unfortunately, no. Prosthetic restorations (like crowns, veneers, bridges) and composite fillings do not change their color, so they will not whiten. After whitening your natural teeth, these restorations may need to be replaced to match the new, lighter shade. Therefore, it's advisable to consider this in advance and opt for whitening before any prosthetic work is done or before replacing old fillings.

  11. DOES TOOTH DECAY PREVENT WHITENING?

Yes. All teeth should be treated before whitening.

  12. HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR TEETH AFTER WHITENING?

Dietary habits are crucial. They have the biggest impact on how long the whitening results last. The effect will be maintained if you avoid products with strong colorants (staining foods and drinks), such as wine, spices, or sweet colored beverages. Don't forget about tea, especially fruit tea. Green tea, for example, leaves many deposits that can easily embed in our enamel. The porosity of your enamel also plays a role.

  13. HOW OFTEN CAN TEETH BE WHITENED?

It's advisable to maintain the whitening results, as re-whitening should not be performed sooner than one year after the previous treatment.
